Enjoy Eating Healthy

Why do so many of life's simple pleasures end up in our waistline or belly? Why are donuts so good and so unhealthy at the same time?

If you're like me you already know the effects of these little joys. Those useless calories in every beer. The trans fat hidden in our favorite baked goods.

We can exercise until we drop and we'll never lose those that belly if we don't watch what we eat.

A few tips to help you stay on track with your healthy eating plan:

Don't skip meals. Skipping meals may cause your metabolism to slow down or lead you to eat more high-calorie, high-fat foods at your next meal or snack.

Select high-fiber foods like whole-grain breads and cereals, beans, vegetables, and fruits. They may help keep you regular and lower your risk for chronic diseases, such as coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Choose lean beef, turkey breast, fish, or chicken with the skin removed to lower the amount of fat and calories in your meals. As you age, your body needs fewer calories, especially if you are not very active.

Have three servings of vitamin D-fortified low-fat/fat-free milk, yogurt, or cheese every day. Milk products are high in calcium and vitamin D and help keep your bones strong as you age. If you have trouble digesting or do not like milk products, try reduced-lactose milk products, or soy-based beverages, or tofu. You can also talk to your health care provider about taking a calcium and vitamin D supplement.

Choose foods fortified with vitamin B12. Many adults over the age of 50 have difficulty absorbing adequate amounts of this vitamin. Therefore, they should get this nutrient through fortified foods, such as breakfast cereals, or from a dietary supplement. Talk with your health care provider to ensure that you are consuming enough vitamin B12.

Keep nutrient-rich snacks like dried apricots, whole-wheat crackers, peanut butter, low-fat cheese, and low-sodium soup on hand. Eat only small amounts of such foods as dried apricots and peanut butter because they are high in calories. Limit how often you have high-fat and high-sugar snacks like cake, candy, chips, and soda.

Drink plenty of water or water-based fluids. You may notice that you feel less thirsty as you get older, but your body still needs water to stay healthy. Examples of water-based fluids are caffeine-free tea and coffee, soup, and low-fat or skim milk.

You can drop those unwanted pounds. The best way to lose belly fat is vigorous exercise and eating healthy foods! Cutting calories is not that hard.

6 Steps to Better Health and Fitness

Another Wimbledon is in the record books. The 4th and all the fireworks are now another pleasant memory. These long, hot days of Summer give us a little extra time to enjoy our favorite outdoor fun!

July is a great time to evaluate your fitness goals and the progress you are making! With almost 6 months left in this year – why not take a few minutes now to assess your progress and where you’d like to be in 6 weeks or before the Holidays roll around! Are you on track to meet the goals you set forth for this year? If not, don’t panic – there’s plenty of time to make some good progress before the kids head back to school!

Here’s a few ideas to help you keep you going:

1) If you ever find yourself pressed for time – remind yourself that better health can lead to a lifetime of benefits. View workouts as time for yourself, rather than as a chore. On days when you’re unmotivated, convince yourself to exercise for just ten minutes. After getting started, you’ll probably do much more.

2) Whether you want to lose a few pounds or enhance your physical performance, set yourself up for success by establishing reasonable short-term goals. Then, try rewarding yourself as you reach each milestone. Treat yourself to a new pair of running shoes after you lose those first five pounds. Or take the family out to your favorite eatery after you run a whole mile – without stopping! Keep your goals simple and within reach – you’ll accomplish them sooner! Then, set new goals!

3) Make exercise fun. Enjoy playing different sports. Vary your workouts with different exercises. Ever tried yoga or swimming? Many healthy fitness lovers enjoy the benefits of using low-impact exercise equipment. Buy an elliptical and turn your extra room into a mini fitness center! Choose different exercise routines and gradually build your times and intensity. Or try a new sport. Give your body a variety of challenging thrills and make it fun! Your fitness efforts will seem much easier if you’re having fun. Enjoy the journey!

4) See yourself reaching your goal. Visualize your success. Imagine how you’ll feel slipping into a new smaller size or walking down the beach in that really hot new swimsuit! Hang a picture on your refrigerator of someone who already has the kind of body shape you want. Every time you go to the ice-box you’ll have a pleasant reminder to eat healthy foods!

5) Some find it helpful to keep a fitness journal and even take pictures along the way. Document your progress. This can do wonders for your ongoing motivation. Every few weeks – look back and see for yourself how much you’ve accomplished! This can be a powerful strategy to help you assess what’s working and, perhaps what’s not.

6) Hold onto your goal. Add new, short term targets or goals as often as you feel necessary – always keeping an eye on the ultimate goal.

Be proactive - enjoy a healthy lifestyle. You'll have more energy and more fun! Get more sleep, exercise most days, and keep eating healthy foods! You’ll feel better and look better!

Eat Healthy for Better Fitness

Eating healthy is vital to your fitness plan. The most important thing is to concentrate on eating a nutritious, balanced diet every day. This provides plenty of energy to grow and exercise. Here are a few tips about eating before, during and after exercise.

Before

* Enjoy some high carbohydrate foods like bananas, bagels or fruit juices. These foods are broken down quickly and provide glucose to the muscles.
* The timing of this meal depends on athletes' preference for eating before exercise, but researchers have found that eating something from 1 to 4 hours before exercise helps keep plenty of blood glucose available for working muscles.
* It is also really important to drink plenty of cool water before exercise to keep muscles hydrated.

During

* Perspiration and exertion deplete the body of fluids necessary for an optimal performance and lead to dehydration. It is important to drink plenty of cool water, at least a half a cup of water every 20 minutes of exercise. Adding a teaspoon of sugar, a little fruit juice or a small amount of powdered drink mix flavors plain water and may encourage fluid intake.
* Usually there is no need to worry about replacing carbohydrates unless the exercise lasts over 90 minutes and is hard and continuous. When this happens, drinking a sports drink or other beverage with some sugar in it will fuel and water to the muscles being exercised.
* Make a homemade sports drink by mixing no more than 4 teaspoon of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and some flavoring (like a teaspoon of lemon juice) in 8 ounces of water.

After

If your workout was strenuous and lasted a long time, your glycogen stores may need refueling. Consuming foods and beverages high in carbohydrates right after exercise will replenish glycogen stores if they are low after exercising.

No matter the intensity of the exercise, it's important to drink plenty of water and eat a nutritious, balanced meal that has lots of carbohydrate rich foods like whole grains, pastas, potatoes, vegetables and fresh fruits!

If you want better health and fitness - today is the perfect day to do something on your journey to a healthier, sexier body! You can shed those hard to lose pounds with strenuous exercise and a healthy eating plan. Why wait? Start today!

Dieting is Easier When You Love the Food. Delicious meals shipped to your door. It's a proven strategy that works!

Keep eating healthy and start getting in shape for more fun in the Summer Sun!

The Keys to a Slimmer Body

Do you dream of having a slimmer waistline? Maybe you'd like to have a tighter stomach and more muscles? Many of us would settle for losing tat belly fat and toning up the arms and legs! The keys are right there for you to grab and unlock the secrets to a slimmer, sexier body.

Key # 1: Today is the best day to start losing that stomach fat. Get up and start walking or running. Go as far as you can. When you get back home - make yourself a small meal of mostly fruits and veggies. No sugar or white bread allowed. If you're like me and you love a great burger - have it on whole wheat bread. Avoid white. Get your protein from egg whites and spinach - try to cut back on the meat for a while.
And no fried anything. Sorry - I love fried chicken too.

Key #2. Repeat the first step for two weeks. Daily runs or long, fast paced walks and more veggies and fruits than any other foods. I love beer and a glass of wine is great with many meals. If you must drink - make it one! Switch to water. No soda - just water. Toss in a slice of lime if you like. Skip the drive-thru window and bring something healthy to snack on at lunch. We all enjoy the speed and convenience of fast food. If you want to lose weight - limit the fast food!

Key # 3 - Write down your weight goal. Your ideal weight and body shape. Get a picture of someone who already has the kind of body you wish you had and hang it on the refrigerator door. Every day - read our goal(s), and take a look at the picture on the fridge to remind yourself. Did I mention tossing all those sugary snack foods so many of us keep handy? Yes, the Ben & Jerry's has to go too. ( Maybe after a few weeks you can feel good enough to reward yourself with one small scoop of ice cream. )

Key # 4. At the end of week two - evaluate your progress. Be honest with yourself. Are you running or walking at least five of every seven days? Are you sticking with a healthy eating plan? Are your clothes starting to feel loose? Find ways to fit in more exercise in the coming weeks. ( Revisit that picture on the fridge! )

Key # 5 - Get some simple home fitness equipment to help you keep moving. Gradually start working out a little longer and a little harder. Start with some simple weight bearing exercises. Maybe using small dumbbells at first. The old classic push-up is still a great way to build up your arms and chest! If you use weights - only lift every other day. Your muscles will need a day of rest between workouts!

Key 6. Find something new to help you vary your workouts. The SmoothFlow R80 Rower will give your arms and stomach more tone and help you burn off some major fat calories! The key here is to develop a variety of exercise options. Maybe you'd have more fun joining a tennis league after work. Or taking up golf. Your options are almost endless! Find something you can enjoy! Keep walking or running five days a week!

Key # 7 - Enlist one or more friends to join you in the quest for better health. Exercise - of any kind is more fun when you are with someone. If you exercise regularly at home enjoy a comedy while you burn those calories. Laughter is great for your health! Stick with daily habits - eating healthy foods and exercise. The quickest way to lose weight and keep it off is start Getting in shape fast!

The Keys to Better Health and Fitness

Eating healthy foods is important for any fitness program. If you want to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and maybe even lose some weight - exercise and healthy eating are the keys!

The most important thing is to concentrate on eating a nutritious, balanced diet every day. This provides plenty of energy to grow and exercise. Here are a few tips about eating before, during and after exercise.

Before

* Have some high carbohydrate foods like bananas, bagels or fruit juices. These foods are broken down quickly and provide glucose to the muscles.

When this happens, drinking a sports drink or other beverage with some sugar in it will fuel your muscles.
* Save your money and make a homemade sports drink by mixing no more than 4 teaspoon of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and some flavoring (like a teaspoon of lemon juice) in 8 ounces of water.

After

If the exercise was strenuous and lasted a long time, glycogen stores may need refueling. Consuming foods and beverages high in carbohydrates right after exercise will replenish glycogen stores if they are low after exercising.

However you choose to exercise, it's important to drink plenty of water and eat a nutritious, balanced meal including carbohydrate rich foods such as whole grains, pastas, potatoes, vegetables and fruits. A teaspoon of sugar, at only 15 calories per teaspoon, adds flavor to these foods and may increase taste appeal.

Enjoy a healthy lifestyle with exercise and healthy eating!

The Best Way to Start

We all have to start somewhere! The simplest steps can eventually lead to great results. Start getting in shape fast by taking a walk. Yes, a nice, peaceful, energizing walk. Burn some calories and let your mind wander. Catch up on your thoughts while you enjoy nature and start your journey to a younger looking, healthier body!

Go for a walk. It’s that easy to reap the benefits of moderate endurance
exercise. Each time you exercise, simply walk a little farther. As the weeks pass, gradually increase the pace, or speed, of your walks. Vary your pace. After a few minutes - try walking as fast as you can for two minutes. Then, return to a normal brisk pace. You kickstart your metabolism when you pick up the pace like that.

Every two weeks, increase the duration of your workout by five minutes. Also, add five minutes of total-body stretches to the beginning and end of your workouts (for a total of 10 minutes of stretching). Improving your flexibility makes your workouts easier over time.

After exercising moderately for a month, add a five-minute vigorous workout three days a week. For example, if you’re walking, speed up to a fast walk or slow jog for a total of five minutes, on three of the days you work out. After two weeks, increase the higher intensity portion of the workout to 10 minutes. Two weeks later, increase it to 15 minutes of vigorous exercise, and then two weeks later do 20 minutes of vigorous activity, three to four days a week. This is a healthy activity that will help you reduce your chance of illness and find more pleasure and vigor in your life.

If you can’t walk for 30 minutes at one time, take 5-, 10-, or 15-minute walks
throughout the day. It all adds up to better health. Start today - Exercise is the quickest way to lose weight!

You’re probably already walking more than you think. And by taking advantage of opportunities all around you to walk more every day, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the steps add up! Walk up the stairs instead of riding the escalator at the mall; take an after dinner walk with your family; choose the farthest spot in the lot at work; eat lunch outdoors instead of at your desk and walk around the block after you eat.

Walking 30 minutes or more a day at a brisk pace is an excellent start to better health and fitness! You can look younger and feel younger. You can have more energy and a better outlook on life. Start getting in shape fast and watch your whole life get better!

Back to the Basics

At the end of the day a few simple fundamentals add up to much better fitness! Simple, yet very effective exercises often lead to spectacular results. Exercises many of learned in middle school and high school can help us stay healthy and enjoy better fitness long after the last school bell!

Jogging helps more people stay healthy than many of us might imagine. Walking does wonders for countless millions. Brisk walking. If you can jog - you can enjoy much improved fitness doing just 20 miles a week! If you enjoy walking more - try for 40 miles a week. You'll feel better and enjoy far less stress.

Once you get comfortable walking or jogging four or five times a week - pick up your pace for a few minutes early in your run. ( Or walk as fast as you can for a couple minutes about five minutes into your walk. ) Then back off your pace to a more comfortable level for a few minutes. Once every four or five minutes pick up your pace. Go as fast as you can for a minute or even two! Then, return to your comfort zone. You'll feel a difference and see incredible results in your fitness level!

If you're like me and don't really enjoy walking in sub-zero or single digit temperatures - go to the mall early and walk before the crowds start pouring in. Or you might enjoy having your own treadmill or elliptical in that spare room. One lady I work with hits the stairs every day at 5:00 PM. ( Our building only has three floors! ) She really gets to huffing as she climbs those stairs for the umpteenth time each evening! And she weighs about 105 pounds!

Push ups are older than dirt. And they still do wonders for countless millions of healthy fitness lovers. They are great for your upper body and your core. Push ups just plain work. Do three sets of 12 or more if you can.

Squats are another effective exercise anyone can do without ever stepping foot in a fancy health club. Again, shoot for three sets of 12 - 15.

Pull ups are a great addition to any workout and don't require an expensive club membership either. If you've been inactive for a long time or haven't ever done any strength training, don't be disappointed if you struggle with pull ups. Wait until you've built up your strength. Keep doing push ups!

Do you have a jump rope? Jumping rope is a great way to get a super cardio workout. And how much is a jump rope? Maybe five or ten bucks for a decent one? Toss it in your backpack and get a few minutes in whenever you can. If you start getting too winded or stressed - do some simple squats or walk in place ( bring those knees up high! ) for a few minutes and then get back to jumping rope!

And no high-school gym class would be complete without the time-honored crunch! Just be sure to let your abs do the work! If you put your hands behind your head - never pull your head up with your hands. Three sets of 12 or 15 crunches will help you tighten those abs and bring back memories of simpler high school days!

Going to the Gym or that fancy health club is great if you enjoy working out with others and meeting fellow fitness buffs! ( And don't mind shelling out $75 a month or more in some clubs. ) Working out with friends is always more fun and helps you endure those last few minutes when the going gets tough!

Keep it fun. Get plenty of rest. Your body needs a day off once or twice a week. And if you want to lose weight or get rid of that belly - the quickest way to lose weight and keep it off requires two very basic habits. Start eating healthy foods every day and getting at least thirty minutes of exercise five days a week. You'll be on the way to a tighter tummy, sexier abs, and leaner body in no time!

Christmas Fudge

Staying fit through the Holidays can be a challenge! Last night Christmas parties everywhere featured seasonal, and not to mention deliciously rich culinary treasures! Everything from Prime Rib to barbecue and then there were the desserts! I'm feeling my belt tighten just thinking about that delicious chocolate mousse! And the fudge at work all week! Forget the sugarplums - I'm having visions of Christmas cookies and candies dancing through my head!

No small wonder Jolly old Saint Nick is always pictured as pleasingly plump! Today, Moms everywhere will be baking Holiday favorites. Chocolate - a traditional Christmas favorite - is already flying off the store shelves! Russell Stovers and and fine chocolate makers enjoy record sales during this wonderful time of the year!

Chocolate fudge for Christmas is such a delicious treat. Make some and bring it your work-place or share some with family and friends this week. Here is a pretty easy chocolate fudge your loved ones are sure to enjoy:

Melt one-quarter cup of butter. ( Use real butter - unsalted if you wish )

Mix together in a separate dish one cup of white sugar, one cup of brown sugar, one-quarter cup of molasses and one-half cup of cream.

Add this to the butter, and after it has been brought to a boil continue boiling for two and one-half minutes, stirring rapidly.

Then add two squares of Baker's Premium No. 1 Chocolate, scraped fine. Boil this five minutes, stirring it first rapidly, and then more slowly towards the end.

After it has been taken from the fire, add one and one-half teaspoonfuls of vanilla.

Then stir constantly until the mass thickens.

Pour into buttered pan and set in a cool place.

Cut into squares and wrap a bunch in plastic wrap or tin foil and top it off with red and green ribbons!

Merry Christmas! Enjoy the Holidays with your favorite chocolate treats and don't forget to keep eating healthy!

Eat Smart for leaner, sexier Abs

If you want have leaner Abs - it's going to take some work - and sacrifices. For me the sacrifice comes in the form of donuts - and sugar filled sweets.

Somewhere in an old music store lies a CD ( more likely a vinyl album ) containing the memorable smash hit by Tommy James and the Shondelles - Sugar Sugar.

Yesterday I met the most interesting lady. She was watching no less than six preschool aged children - all playing on a public playground. I didn't count them all. She did have the help of her nine year old son. It took her ten minutes just to get them all loaded into her over-sized van and into their respective car seats. An amazing women might better describe this picture of patience. I would have a full head of gray hair and completely frazzled nerves had I even thought of attempting to care for so many precious little ones.

One little girl - I guessed to be the youngest - had the prettiest big eyes nestled into her lovely little face. My new acquaintance explained that she was in the process of adopting this quiet little Angel. She went on to say that she used to weigh more than other children in her age group - due to a lousy diet, laden with Sugar! This little gift from God had some behavioral issues as well - attributable in some part to a diet full of sugary drinks and foods. Changes to this little girls diet have resulted in the loss of five pounds and improved behavior.

This got me to wondering - What am I feeding my little boys? Earlier that morning, after dropping my oldest son off at school, I introduced his little brother to one of my favorite places - the local donut shop. Yes, "This is Living" I proudly explained to him as we both dived into our newly found treasure trove of sugary delights. Before we could navigate the two miles to our nearest discount store we had managed to polish off almost half of our dozen donuts. Washed down with some sweetened chocolate milk, of course.

One hour later after running through the massive bargain store I decided to get him out of there before we both went crazy. On our way home I found myself fighting with a perfectly normal and lovable little two year old over the merits of staying in his car seat. He was under the influence a classic sugar-rush. He didn't want to sit anywhere!

How can I impress upon my children the importance of eating healthy? Especially after a trip to our favorite donut shop?

The quickest way to lose weight - and keep it off - is twofold.

One - Stop eating junk that serves no nutritional purpose. Sugar and donuts fall into that category. Why are all the good things so bad for us?

Two - Start getting at least 30 minutes of good cardio exercise each day. Or at least five days a week.

Three - start exercising your stomach three days a week. Let the muscles rest between workouts Crunches, rowing machine, pull-ups, and squats. Get an exercise ball and do sit-ups on the ball. Then get out and run or walk for 30 minutes.

There are natural, healthy ways to lose that belly fat. The best way to lose that belly is with exercise and healthy eating!
Perhaps I'll ponder on this as I drink my morning coffee - with two scoops of sugar.

Finding time for you

How do you find balance? With so many commitments and tasks cluttering up our schedules - how do you find time for what really matters most? Stuff like our own health? Really important goals like more time enjoying Family and loved ones.

It seems like if you are healthy it is much easier to have a better attitude towards just about everything. To find time - or make sure you have time for the important things.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up achieving success and / or giving to others. So much time and energy devoted to careers and helping others and we can too easily forget to take care of ourselves first.

It's OK to be a little selfish and make some time for ourselves each day isn't it?

Make It a Habit! Guard your time for health and fitness. You'll do better at everything else if you are in good health!

The key to a lifetime of fitness is consistency. Here are some tips to help make regular exercise a habit:

Choose something fun. Sports and an exercise plan you enjoy - that fits your lifestyle. Set realistic goals, and tailor your program to your own fitness level. Give your body a chance to adjust to your new routine. Stay positive even though you may not see immediate results. Don't give up if you miss a day; just get back on track the next day. Find a partner for a little motivation and socialization (support from family and friends has been positively related to regular physical activity).

Build some rest days into your exercise schedule. Listen to your body. If you experience unusual symptoms (e.g., have difficulty breathing or experience faintness or prolonged weakness during or after exercise) speak to your Doctor. Don't wait.

Enjoy a fun variety of physical activities and give your body a thorough workout and help prevent boredom. You might want to choose one indoor exercise and one outdoor activity to allow for changes in your schedule or for bad weather.

The important thing to remember is move, move, and keep moving! Incorporate as much physical activity as you can into your daily life, through exercise and routine activities.

Better Health Through Nutrition

Healthy eating is a critical part of any total health plan, and can improve the effectiveness of physical activity. When you combine a well-balanced diet with moderate exercise, you feel better and keep off unwanted pounds.

Health Professionals agree - The Quickest Way to Lose Weight Fast is with daily exercise and eating healthy! Make exercise and eating healthy integral parts of your balance and well-being. You'll soon be hooked. A healthy lifestyle leads to much greater happiness and energy!

Eating Healthy is crucial to getting in shape fast

All athletes need a diet that provides enough energy in the form of carbohydrates and fats as well as essential protein, vitamins and minerals. This means a diet containing 55-60 percent of calories from carbohydrates (10 to 15 percent from sugars and the rest from starches), no more than 30 percent of calories from fat and the remaining (about 10-15 percent) from protein.

That translates into eating a variety of foods every day - grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, lean meats, and low fat dairy products. The base of the diet should come from carbohydrates in the form of starches and sugars. Fluids, especially water, are very important to the winning combination. Dehydration can stop even the finest athlete from playing his or her best game.

Concentrate on eating a nutritious, balanced diet every day. This provides plenty of energy to grow and exercise.

Have some high carbohydrate foods like bananas, bagels or fruit juices. These foods are broken down quickly and provide glucose to the muscles.
The timing of this meal depends on athletes' preference for eating before exercise, but researchers have found that eating something from 1 to 4 hours before exercise helps keep plenty of blood glucose available for working muscles.
It is also critical to drink plenty of cool water before exercise to keep muscles hydrated. As the days get warmer you'll want to keep plenty of water or your favourite sports drink.

There are plenty of natural and healthy ways to lose weight fast.

Get plenty of rest. Enjoy healthy eating habits. Exercise daily and you'll be on that wonderful road to getting in shape fast!

Eating healthy fuels your workout

Health and fitness experts agree that what you eat and drink can significantly
impact health and exercise performance. You need to make sure you consume enough energy to maintain a healthy body weight for your activity level and sport. Healthy eating also reduces the risk of chronic disease. Active individuals need more carbohydrate and protein than sedentary individuals, and should not restrict fat intake too severely. Keeping well-hydrated and replacing fluids lost during exercise is also a key part of feeling good and performing at your best.

In order to remain physical active while dieting, your diet needs to provide adequate carbohydrate for glycogen replacement and enough protein for the maintenance and repair of lean tissue.

Compared to your less active counterparts, your diet requires additional fluid to cover sweat losses, energy to fuel physical activity, protein for building and repair of muscle tissue, and carbohydrate for the replacement of muscle glycogen. In some cases the need for other nutrients also increases (e.g., B-complex, antioxidant vitamins, iron). As more energy is consumed to cover the cost of exercise, your intake of these other nutrients needs to increase.

As your energy requirements increase, your goal should be to consume nutrient-dense carbohydrate-based food groups (e.g., whole grain breads and cereals, vegetables, and fruits) and lean protein sources (e.g., lean meats, fish, poultry, dairy, legumes). Your aim should be to increase energy intake to maintain weight using nutrient-dense foods that will also provide vitamins and minerals, instead of meeting additional energy needs with high-fat and sugar foods.

Timing of your meals is also important. Eating sensibly before you exercise assures that there is enough energy to fuel your workout, while eating after exercise will help refuel the body. A healthy post-exercise meal helps you replace muscle glycogen and repair muscle tissue damage.

Keep eating healthy and you'll have the energy you need to exercise and start getting in shape fast.

Exercise and Eating Healthy lead to a healthier body

ANY AMOUNT of exercise you do in addition will help to increase the amount of weight loss. But exercising 60 minutes a day is the amount of exercise needed to prevent WEIGHT GAIN. What this means is that while you are losing weight, it is best to focus on learning about portion control and choosing a healthier diet. Once you have gained mastery over those skills, you can think about aiming at the Surgeon General's recommendation of 30 minutes a day

Eating the right foods and the right amounts of foods can help you live a longer, healthier life. Research has proven that many illnesses—such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure—can be prevented or controlled by eating right.
